Meet the Instructor: Yvette Ackerman
May 02, 2022Hey there! My name is Yvette and I am a mom, wife, artist and a lover of life! I have been teaching for over 15 years and LOVE every minute of it. The past 10 years I have been teaching art to preschoolers-6th California, but this fall I will be moving to Oregon to teach middle schoolers! The joy I experience when seeing a young artist take risks and create something is unmatched!
In my home studio you would find me listening all genres of music from Miles Davis to Leon Bridges. I really enjoying painting with watercolors and acrylic paints and then finding ways to make beautiful collages with the painted papers. I find that the more I create, the more I discover new types of art making that excite me such as linocut and needle-felting.
As a kid, my favorite subject was science and art and that love has extended into my adult life- using nature as my muse. If I am not creating art, you I might spot me surrounded by nature in the backcountry of Yosemite.
